Mission Statement

[location-weather id="99484"]

While working on scientific principles and international best practices, Balochistan Food Authority aims to ensure food safety & quality in the entire food chain collaboration with manufacturers, Food Business Operators, consumers, government departments, autonomous bodies and other stakeholders.

Policy Messages

“Food safety refers to the proper handling, cooking, and preservation of food in order to protect people from foodborne illnesses caused by microbes such as bacteria, fungi, parasites, and viruses. Stomach aches, diarrhea, vomiting, fever, muscle aches, and more can be caused by a foodborne illness. This is why food safety is so important. If people avoid using proper food safety guidelines, they can cause themselves or others to fall very ill and, in more serious cases, even die. The establishment and functionalization of Balochistan Food Authority by the Government of Balochistan indicates that the provincial government is seriously committed to strengthen the food safety regime in the province and ensure supply of hygienic and safe food to the people. I appreciate the steps so far taken by BFA and expect that the organization would effectively play its role to enforce food standards through public awareness campaigns, conferences, training and regular inspections of food business units.”
